| Celli's Member Spotlight: Steve Buccilli

- Name:
Stephen Buccilli (aka Big Sexy)
- Occupation:
Manufacturing Team Leader
- Age: 39
- Weight: 335 (Yikes)
- Hobbies:
Powerlifting, reading and writing poetry, cooking, helping others, and exploring the depths of human potential
- What are you trying to improve?
Strength - I need to be stronger! Relieve the stress of everyday life
- How did you hear about Celli's?
I met Ryan at the 2008 Kumite classic powerlifting meet. He stopped to help me and he didn't even know me. I started training at this gym 3 months later.
- How has being trained by Ryan helped you get closer to achieving your goals?
Ryan is a very giving person. He truly cares about his clients no matter what their goals are. When you hire Ryan you get more then some one who knows how to eat and lift, you get extremely valuable information on what it takes to be successful no matter what your goals are. He has an "eye" for good and proper technique. He can spot bad form a mile away, but he can also help you to correct it. The added bonus is having Dana around, she is as giving and helpful as Ryan, the two of them make for an unstoppable team. He has helped me to improve all my lifts and I know I can be a top ranked raw and single ply lifter real soon with his help.

- Do you have a new goal, as a result of your training at Celli's?
My number one goal, and this is the most important goal in my life right now, is to learn how to properly lift off for some one benching. I have an upcoming IPA meet which will be my first gear meet. I hope to total 2000 or more. Next year I want to hit a 1900 raw total and 2100 single ply total.
- What is your favorite thing about training at Celli's?
Wow, tough question. The facility is awesome, and very clean! Some people think it has to be dirty to be hard core, but training in a clean facility is a great experience and says a lot about he owners. The camaraderie and encouragement I get from the other members is Great! I have learned so much from all of them. Plus they are like family. I have had other members come in on their day off just to help me. You wouldn't get that anywhere else.
- Any upcoming events that you might be participating in?
IPA Senior Nationals in York, and then maybe some USAPL stuff next year.
- Do have a funny moment from training at Celli's you would like to tell?
Hmmmm, I am not sure I can repeat any. Ok, I just started training in gear (shirt and suit) and let me tell you cramming in my body into an ultra tight champion suit is a feat unto itself! Talk about cramming 10 lbs of you know what in a 5 lbs bag! One other funny moment was when I tried putting Dana's belt around my thigh and it wouldn't buckle!! But it's always a good time at Celli's.
